List the Colleges that you might like to attend.
Once you completed the virtual tours from your freshman year, you might have some idea of the
colleges where you want to send an application. As you probably
already know, there are various considerations that will determine which college is the appropriate place for
you to attend. When preparing for college, the decision of what
college is not an easy one, consider these questions as a guide.
1.
Are you interested in a big school or would a smaller school suit you best?
2.
Are you more inclined to live at home, or would dorm life be something you want to
experience?
3.
Would you like to attend a college close to your own home, maybe in the same state, or would you
like to be a good distance away?
4.
Have you decided on a major just yet?
5.
Do you have an idea of what you can spend for college?
6.
Are you more comfortable in a spacious lecture hall or would you prefer a smaller type class
environment?
7.
Are you hopeful of attending a highly prestigious college or university, or would a state
college serve your professional interests
Once you review your answers to the above questions, you may be able to get a better idea of
what you want. For example, would you prefer a smaller college
and be living at home? If so, an enormous college or university
with wonderful dorms won't make the grade. On the other hand, if
you think you are going to be an Accounting major, then a Teaching college would not be a fit for
you.
Once you complete the above task, you should have a better understanding of what type of college
or university you might enjoy attending. In addition, if you can
narrow you college search down a bit, it should help you get an idea of what types of grades you'll need to
get accepted to the different colleges.
